Great Eco-Rating and #GreenMagenta label
When the first T Phone was launched on the market a year and a half ago, the smartphone impressed with its 5G connectivity at an unbeatable price. With the second generation – the T Phone 2 and the T Phone 2 Pro – we want to impress not only in terms of price-performance ratio, but especially in terms of sustainability.
The basic idea is simple: in line with our claim “Connecting Your World”, everyone should be involved everywhere with high speed. After all, promoting digital participation throughout Europe is very important to us. The new T Phone 2 models are important and practical tools for this. They offer an impressive package with an optimized user experience – thanks to a powerful processor, for example. Both models have once again been developed in close collaboration with Google and are available at affordable prices as usual.

Sustainably powerful: The T Phone 2 sets new standards
Ecological design and an outstanding price-performance ratio don’t fit together? The new T Phone 2 and T Phone 2 Pro prove the opposite, as these models are particularly impressive when it comes to sustainability. In the important Eco-Rating, both came in among the top places – with 88 out of 100 points for the T Phone 2 and 84 out of 100 points for the T Phone 2 Pro.
But that’s not all, because both smartphones have our #GreenMagenta label, which we use to identify products that contribute to climate protection and the responsible use of resources. This way, you can be sure that your purchase decision is also helping to protect the environment and make the world a better place.
So, what are the main reasons for the high eco-rating and the #GreenMagenta label? The models impress with their above-average recyclability and sustainable packaging, which is completely free from plastic and reduced to a minimum. In addition, the optimized use of semiconductors has reduced harmful greenhouse gas emissions during the production process.
But sustainability is a process that is passed on from the manufacturer to the users. And that’s where we support you by offering monthly software and security updates from Deutsche Telekom and system updates from Google for the first three years. In the fourth and fifth year, the software updates are then provided quarterly, while both models receive two operating system updates. This way, you are always up to date and won’t be tempted to buy the latest device straight away.

Since 2021, we have been using the Eco Rating label to inform our customers about the environmental impact of different mobile phone models. At a single glance, the score shows which models perform particularly well in the categories of durability, repairability and recyclability, climate compatibility and resource conservation.
